Diverse Therapist Expertise
Infants
Milestones Therapy has therapists with experience and expertise in the area of infant development and treating feeding challenges starting from birth. We support your breast or bottle feeding goals through individualized care and collaborating closely with a lactation consultant when needed to meet breastfeeding goals. Milestones Therapy accesses Milkyways IBCLC services for lactation support needs. The Milkyways' lactation consultant is certified in Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad.

You may want to contact us if your infant is demonstrating difficulty latching, excessive spit up, collic, gas, reflux, coughing or "choking" during breast or bottle feeding, constipation, weight loss or slow gain, or leaking of milk during feeds.

We also have experience in overall physical development in regards to meeting developmental milestones. We can help support development through therapy and/or providing home programming.
Speech & Language
In speech therapy, we are typically working on how speech sounds.

In language therapy, we are working on verbal communication and/or by use of a communication device. We also work on answering questions, grammar, conversation, and even social aspects of language such as gestures, eye contact, and more.
Voice & Cognition
Milestones Therapy has therapists experienced in treating patients of all ages who have voice and cognitive disorders. Sometimes voice disorders result from vocal abuse and other times, they result from vocal cord pathologies such as nodules or cancer or a neurological insult such as a stroke or traumatic brain injury. Cognitive deficits such as aphasia, aquired apraxia of speech, memory difficulties, and executive functioning challenges also result from brain injuries. Milestones Therapy can help with cognitive rehabilitation and treatment of voice disorders.
